
Ministry of Finance of Sierra Leone is a government body tasked with designing and implementing sound economic policies and public financial management by ensuring the efficient allocation of public resources. It was established in 1961 and is headquartered in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
The organizational structure of the MOF is divided into two levels: policy and technical management levels. It is composed of various departments such as Macro Fiscal Policy, Public Debt Management, Revenue & Tax Policy, Procurement Unit, DFMST, Internal Audit, Accountant General among others. The Ministry is committed to promoting sustainable economic growth and development in the context of a stable macroeconomic environment. MOF’s core values embrace professionalism, efficiency, accountability, transparency, teamwork, integrity and innovation. Some of the MOF’s responsibilities include managing the country’s revenues and finances, implementing economic policies and public finances, advising the Sierra Leonean Government on economic issues, enforcing tax laws, managing the country’s debts and supervising all national banks among many others.
